# Rain team ops ## Collaboration not autonomy There is a misconception that the Rain culture "autonomous". Nobody is asking nor wants pure autonomy. The culture is actually deeply collaborative. Our current collaboration is 1000s of chat messages with infrequent pairing calls. But it can be anything. The key is we get there together. ## How we do QA Reminder - how we do QA: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1258XxfidHExqPCTzs7pJ0bmjXDyMpdrYrdPjl2tQhPc/edit#heading=h.bgu89ns3249v ## If you want help with an issue "Put up a PR as soon as you're stuck. Can't say i'm stuck without a repro." Without the PR we have to use communication tools to examine the issue which is slow, inefficient. With a PR we can look directly at the code. This should be the default across the entire team so we all use this practice, not just with Dave. Reminder: - We are not doing test driven development where you write the repro _before_ you even start coding - It's also misguided in that the most efficient way to fix any test is to hardcode the outputs ## All in the chat Try and keep comms in a chat rather than 1:1. That way we all can see that chat. Especially when you are unsure of something, pls ask in the chat. Because .... ## Claryfing questions If you can't work something out regarding focus or priorities, please ask a clarifying question. Often David A does this. Everybody benefits when someone says 'I don't understand' because there are usually others in the same boat. It's our team, our lives, so any moment in uncertainty is an oportunity for clarity. Ask and help yourself and everybody else. ## Roadmap and crucial instructions We need to get better at highlighting where we are, where we are going and critical decisions that impact everyone. As we get clearer on how to do that I'll update this. Any suggestions pls add them! ## Working across timezones Pay attention to night / morning times, if you are blocked pls check in before you head to start or first thing when you start. Global timezones can be a massive plus or a big negative, its up to us to make it work. https://everytimezone.com/s/3c1608ec ![](https://i.imgur.com/axcGvQo.png)
