# The Silicon plague -- **The Infection** No one knows where it came from, no one knows _when_ it arrived. But what is known, that almost no one is safe from the corruptive touch especially synthetic lifeforms or those with augments. The only known thing came from a twin-linked borg who's link was severed before the infection took hold on them completely. The code was taken out before the cyborg's internal systems fused together causing the death of the physical and the backup of their positronic personality. The last usable log entry was seen below ``` [ 0.000000] Machine model: ###### [ 0.000000] cma: Reserved 8 MiB at 0x0b800000 [ 0.000000] Memory policy: Data cache writeback [ 0.000000] Built 1 zonelists in Zone order, mobility grouping on. Currently only 2 instances of **known** interactions occuring, it is unknown at this time if this has been around. Concerns: A connection physically made with this entity will result in death for any synthetic life form, for those with augments they may find themselves unable to use them or they may start to act against them. It is unknown at this time the severity of such. **Counter Measures**: Awareness of behavioral changes with synthetic or silicon crew, infections override their personality entirely. Severing their remote network as soon as infection is noted may allow them to survive, however if not immediate destruction and meltdown of materials is encouraged. **Known locations:** Deep space locations, however the facility where this was discovered was missing the shell of said silicon mentioned above meaning the entities are mobile.
