# Upon arrival

Dear Guest,
upon arrival I will welcome you in person, handing you the keys and showing you the characteristics of the house and the place, some of which are also written here and in the quick guide.
If I can't welcome you in person, we will find a way to agree on how to do it.

### Can I arrive before the check-in time?
Check-in time is usually set between 16:00 and 19:00.
Some guests have asked me on several occasions if an early check-in is possible: this depends on the availability of the apartment.
If the previous guests were punctual at 10am in the morning, it is unlikely that the apartment will be ready before 3pm, so the fixed time remains at 3.30pm.
In any case, you can easily write to me to ask me if it's possible to anticipate ... there's no harm in trying :)

# The tourist tax

Starting from the year 2024, the Municipality of Pianello del Lario has reintroduced the payment of the tourist tax which applies to all guests over the age of 14, with application up to the 15th day of overnight stay. This cost amounts to €1/person for each night.

# The necessary documents
Italian law requires that every accommodation facility - guesthouse as in our case "Villa Selva" proceeds, when starting a new rental, with the registration of the guests' documents.
This is a normal procedure that everyone should respect even if unfortunately I have met guests who did not want to provide me with their documents because "we have already been to Italy and they have never asked us for documents". Unfortunately, many landlords do not register documents in order not to pay taxes to the state for the rent that is being made.

### To facilitate operations
To facilitate the registration operations, you can send me via Whatsapp or via the AirBNB app the photos of the documents (Identity document or Passport) of all the guests in which you can clearly read the name, surname, date and place of birth, nationality and document (one document for each guest: 4 guests $\rightarrow$ 4 documents).
If you do not want to send me the photos, we will proceed with the registration upon your arrival: this may obviously take some time

# During the stay
## Some pointers
Here are some indications for your stay:
- the refrigerator you find in the apartment is new, just bought this year (2023) and is very powerful: **DO NOT** increase the power beyond level 2 except for occasional situations and for short periods: I have often found the maximum power in the refrigerator with ice too
- [for those staying in the *Villa Selva* apartment] the electric curtain above the door is delicate: if there is strong wind or a storm, it must be closed
