In retrospect about Sky Variations *cyrcle project, there was the former in the wake of my own daily artworks on the first euro trip in about 2000. Where I stayed on moving everytime, I used to pick wire hangers from room closets, to produce so-called cyrcle objects that were roundly deformed by hands, and to hook the best one in the window; that was to capture the sky image seen through those round frames among town structures or tree branches, and there remained a photo collection, keeping track of the sky by changing viewpoint in a strange land. I printed them on film sheets and overlapped filters to visualize only sky images, and that eventually became a collage work combined with them after my homecoming. Every hooked cyrcle objects and the shifting sky visions within them seemed like apparent planets moving randomly, reflecting my nomadic situation, and collage of these floated like countless celestial sphere. As I thought this image was applied to the other people in modern life at some point, I already had idea to develop it to a relational art project.

Then, more than a decade later, as of my entry on the photo related exhibition program, I put it into practice and had my circle of friends and acquaintances to come together and to offer multiple perspectives on Sky Variations *cyrcle project : KYOTO.
It followed that I produced a large photo collage within a custom-built LED lightbox and installed it on the main gallery wall (besides, project materials and snapshots displayed on the other hand), which filled the exhibition space with colorful lights of the Sky in variety and totality in the Spring, 2015.
