# ZeFi Panel Questions **Note**: We won’t get to all the questions so look at this as a question bank and we’ll go where the conversation takes us. **Note**: Some questions may be duplicated across different people/general. It’s more of accounting. ## Moderator - Ben Rodriguez (Senior Protocol Specialist, Coinbase) ## Panelists - Koh (COO, Aleo) - Collins Belton (Renowned Web3 Legal Expert) - Alex Shefrin (Former Head of BD at SushiSwap) - Chris Bender (Founder, Renegade, Ottercash) - Barron (Founder, Demox Labs) ## General Questions **Note**: There will be a keynote on ‘what is ZeFi’ so we can probably skip the first two or so questions but will add here for completeness - What is ZeFi? And how does it differ from DeFi? - What does ZK bring to the table for DeFi? What are some use cases? What are the biggest unlocks? - **Spice**: Is privacy necessary for crypto (and DeFi) to succeed? Are we going to eventually see “non-private” DeFi take an eventual backseat? - What are the potential roadblocks to widespread adoption of ZK tech in DeFi, and how might these be overcome? What needs to happen? - **Crystal Ball**: What does the future look like in terms of ZK integration into DeFi? What does the immediate term look like? What does 2 years from now look like? 5 years? What does “success” look like? ## Koh Questions - Talk to us about some of the challenges you’ve faced developing Aleo - Talk to us about the importance of having a viable privacy chain. What would be the use cases that can be unlocked that current options can’t offer? - Gaining and maintaining developer mindshare is a notoriously difficult thing. How are you thinking about that regarding the fact that you’ve created a new developer environment/language? - Talk to us about the transaction lifecycle of Aleo and how it may differ from non-privacy enabled chains? - You have an extra network participant in provers. Can you explain what role they play and how they’re incentivized to participate in the system? - Being a privacy chain, how do you think about the regulatory dynamics? What have been the biggest challenges here? - You have a novel consensus mechanism called AleoBFT. What made you feel like this new consensus mechanism was the right choice for Aleo? - There’s a trend right now in the modular ecosystem that certain protocols are launching their own L2/rollup chain. In Ethereum: An example is Celo – once its own L1 – now becoming an L2. What do you think about this trend and has Aleo thought about launching an L2 in the form of a zk-rollup? ## Demox Lab Questions - While developing the browser-based ZKP-enabled Leo Wallet, what are some of the technical or other challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them? - What are the most important things to think about when designing a wallet for privacy? - How does developing Leo Wallet change how you think about UX? How does UX change in a ZeFi world? - What key features of the Leo Wallet do you think have attracted the most interest in the DeFi/ZeFi community? - How does the Leo Wallet address the current gaps in the crypto wallet space? - What future enhancements or features can users anticipate in Leo Wallet's roadmap? - What role do you see Leo Wallet playing in the broader adoption of ZK technology in DeFi? ## Collins Belton Questions - In many places, but especially in the US, we have barely received any regulatory clarity on blockchain in general. What regulatory challenges await us when it comes to zk tech, privacy-enabled/default chains, and ZeFi? - Pretend I’m a regulator with barely any knowledge of this space in general, how do you ‘pitch’ me on this? Especially taking into account the fear of enabling sanctioned peoples, entities, or countries - **Spice**: Is regulation actually an antithesis to what is being built here? ## Alex Shefrin Questions - How would your role have changed if SushiSwap was ZeFi and not DeFi? - Does your approach regarding strategic partnerships, ecosystem integrations, etc change? - How do you drive growth to something so new and barely understood? - How does ZeFi ‘win’ non-cryptonatives? ## Chris Bender Questions - With Renegade, you’re building an onchain darkpool. First, what is a darkpool in general in TradFi? How are you translating this to crypto? - How does MEV change in ZeFi (and/or using Renegade)? - Explain the usage of MPC in darkpools and subsequently your MPC-ZKP architecture - Walk us through the trade lifecycle
