# Ferrous - Asquera Event // Meeting 15 2020-09-28, 13:00 CEST [Past meetings](https://hackmd.io/VX3fRVO3SGauzxc-A9MD6w?view) [Zoom](https://zoom.us/j/98143489516?pwd=VjNPRFJXVXlOYTJRZjlpSFBJVkdWZz09) ## Attendees * Flaki * Valentina * Felix * Florian * Rafaela * Sina ## Talking points * Accounting closing for Oxidize 2k * Positive balance: 6.046,70 € (net) * Asquera Event's share: 1.209,34 € (net) * Résumé of cooperation between Asquera Event and Ferrous Systems * Drawing conclusion from Rafaela and Flaki's work under the banner of Asquera Event * A lot of tasks were tied to Ferrous * Making Asquera Event sustainable in 2020 was not that successful and future outlook neither * Ferrous: * Good help with tech-prep, set up, soundchecks etc. * A lot of accounting was still going via Ferrous * Ticketing was on Ferrous side because of infrastructure, also smaller risk * Decisions could have been made sooner * Stream, MCing worked well, good feedback for live event * Vague future of Asquera Event as an operatign vehicle for online events * Florian would like to bring Asquera Event to an end / cutting out the name * Not relying on Oxidize for future funding * Making sure the transition to 2021 for all employees goes smooth * Continue cooperation in 2021? * Valentina won't be actively contributing in 2021 * Not sure if Oxidize (in a similar vein like this year) will happen again due to current situation * Lots of companies have stepped back from conference sponsoring * Three organizations: Ferrous Systems, Asquera Event, Area Bay Tech Club - too many instances involved * Future outlook options: doing online marketing & organizing online events? * Terminating contract - settling for a date * Termination by end of August 2020 * RustFest & Transitioning to Bay Area Tech Club * Non-profit only * Primarily for moving RustFest and other Rust events * Moving RustFest infrastructure to Bay Area Tech Club * Supporting local efforts with BATC funds * Getting sponsors for long-term contributions (for example 500€ a month) * Flaki is asking for help with this * Kick-off funds needed * Governance model around BATC: who is doing what, taking which decisions etc. * Wrapping everything up after RustFest Global in November * BATC will offer online streaming framework services to sustain itself for the next 6 months * Money from sponsoring, event organizing, ... * Long-term perspectives of the funding of Rafaela's position * Rafaela as potential manager of BATC * But: Would BATC be able to fully support Rafaela's position? * Writing over Asquera Event to Rafaela doesn't make sense * Taxation Germany vs. Estonia / Employing from a non-profit possible? * "Yearly running expenses" in RustFest budget - 10-12k for Rafaela's work * 5-10k of budget on Asquera Event was in the account earlier, and it needs to be discussed what will be happening with the money * RustFest pays fixed fee to Asquera Event * How much time exactly spent on RustFest? * Continue the discussion within the next 2 weeks
