### Pre-events

Pre-events are free to attend, should be used to test our infrastructure before the conference
- News from Kenia, Linz, or other meetup groups that might be interested in organizing pre-events?
- Please continue outreach to local groups! :)
- Select speakers for pre-events from list of non-accepted CfP submitters
* How many pre-events do we want to have in total?
* At least 4, up to 8 events
* As long as we can support it (workload/payment)
* Are they gonna be held in local languages or all in English?
* They don't need to be in English / can be in local languages, and we will provide English subtitles afterwards

### Coil sponsorship & Web Monetization
- Update on the [Coil](https://coil.com/) sponsorship
- We will get coupons with a worth of 5k that will be distributed amongst attendees
- Won't cost them anything because of the sponsorship, but speakers can receive money from them
- What are we getting out of Web Monetization
- New speaker perk!
- New way to engage both ticket-holders and non-ticket-holders
- Tool has high privacy standards
- Feedback
- Might make speakers anxious about not getting enough in, or comparing themselves to others. But: they can opt-out, monetization feature not mandatory
- There are no metrics that allow speakers to compare what they received with other speakers.
- On another note: might motivate speakers to engage more with attendees & make an effort
