## Intro

This document is the first in the “LTE EMM Procedure” series to be presented in subsequent documents and provides an EMM scenario. In the scenario, user experiences and device operations expected while a user travels over an LTE network will be defined as EMM cases.

## EMM Scenario

> 初始狀態下， UE 原本是關機的。

### Initial Attach

如果成功，UE 的狀態會從 **EMM-Deregistered, ECM-Idle and RRC-Idle** 變為 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected and RRCConnected** ，失敗的話 MME 會發送 **Attach Reject** 訊息，並保持原本的 UE 狀態。

### Detach

UE State: **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected and RRC-Connected** -> **EMM-Deregistered, ECM-Idle and
RRC-Idle**

### S1 Release due to User Inactivity

當 UE 停止使用服務， S1 Bearer 與 S1 signaling connection 會被釋放，這時， UE State 會從 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected and RRC-Connected** 轉為 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Idle and RRC-Idle** 。

### Service Request due to New Traffic

當 New Traffic 產生， UE 的狀態會從 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Idle and RRC-Idle** 轉為 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected and RRC-Connected** ，這個動作可以由
UE 或是 Network 觸發 (上/下行)。

### Periodic TAU

由 TAU timer 到期觸發， UE 的狀態會從 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Idle and RRC-Idle** 變為 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected and RRC-Connected** ，等到 TA Update 完成後再轉回 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Idle and RRC-Idle** 。

### Handover without TAU

UE 的狀態: **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected
and RRC-Connected**

若 UE 移動到了新的細胞，但是該 TA 仍在 TAI List ，這樣 UE 的狀態並不會改變。

### Cell Reselection without TAU

UE 的狀態: **EMM-Registered, ECM-Idle and RRC-Idle**

若 UE (Registered and Idle) 移動到了新的細胞，但是該 TA 仍在 TAI List ，這樣 UE 的狀態並不會改變。

### Handover with TAU

UE 的狀態: **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected
and RRC-Connected**

若 UE 移動到了新的細胞，且該 TA 不在 TAI List ， TAU 會在 Handover 後立刻執行，這個狀況下， UE 的狀態也不會改變。

### Cell Reselection with TAU

若 UE (Registered and Idle) 移動到了新的細胞，但是該 TA 不在 TAI List ，這樣 UE 必須先從 Idle 情況轉為 **EMM-Registered, ECM-Connected and RRC-Connected** ，待 TAU 完成後再轉回 Idle 。

### Move to Another City


當 UE 移動到其他城市，不管 UE 當下是否處於 Active 的狀態，都會取消註冊 EMM 。

### Initial Attach in Another City


當 UE 移動到新城市，就需要重新進行 Initial Attach ，以連上無線網路。
