# Tish Notes
My personal advice.
### Rules
---
Collaborate with Tish on rules for different things like phone schedule and wakeup time.
**Do**
- Try to follow these rules to support Tish
- Attempt to give Tish justification for these rules
- Focus on *enforcing* rules
**Don't**
- Set new standards for Tish at random
- Critisize Tish for not following rules that you haven't discussed
### Routine
---
Work with Tish on a routine that gives him *practical* and *achievable* activities to do on a daily basis. Collaborative activities are best. Ex:
- Exercise (w Mama or Papa)
- Drive (w Mama)
- Schoolwork (Math w Maya)
- Walk Winny (w Papa)
- Cook Dinner (w Papa)
**Do**
- Try to follow a similar routine to support Tish
**Don't**
- Compare Tish's routine to his friends or classmates
### School Work
---
Get *involved* with Tish's schoolwork and try to understand what he is learning. Build *habits* and value consistency over intensity.
**Do**
- Discuss Tish's schoolwork with him (English)
- Schedule time to work on schoolwork with Tish **regularly**
- Encourage Tish ask *questions* about his schoolwork, instead of letting him give absolute statements like "*I don't know*"
- Focus on Tish being productive for a specific, achievable amount of time
- Follow along with what subjects Tish is learning
- Give Tish [SMART](https://www.atlassian.com/blog/productivity/how-to-write-smart-goals) goals. (Focus on **achievable**)
- Ex: *Can you write and submit question 6 of your Lord of the Flies homework by 3pm?*
**Don't**
- Give Tish unspecific, general imperatives
- Ex: *Do you homework!*
- Make Tish feel overwhelmed with schoolwork
- Compare Tish's academic performance to his classmates
