The goal here is to implement and entire UI that is completely black or white. The inspiration for the UI is a hat tip to the analog world. Think technical drawings, diagrams, books, mathematics papers, field manuals, chemistry notation, maps, slide rules, rules, sextants, mechanical calculators. Heavy emphasis on 1950-1990 pre-internet and early digital computers. These designs there is a tendancy for developers and designers to gravitate towards early computing designs, we should avoid that mistake. The base rules: - black or white (no gray) - Uniform line width with minimal deviation - Deviation is intended to draw emphasis or distinction, never a style choice - Vector over raster These are the core examples for the user interface: ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/SyCQRVj_n.png) ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/ryRmR4j_h.jpg) ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/HJTJyssu2.jpg) ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/rkB81riu2.jpg) ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/SJXTyBiun.jpg) It might makes sense to read through this guide https://openoregon.pressbooks.pub/blueprint/chapter/unit-2-technical-sketching/ No old school technical diagrams ![](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/S1N3_NjOn.png)
