# Spring 2020 Tech Fellow Training Overview

We've made some major upgrades to how training works based off of all of the feedback, conversations, check-ins, and reviews we've received over the last year. Our main change has been to **seperate facilitator and technical training** and improve our continuing education for returning Tech Fellows by honing in on their public speaking and presentation skills. We've also added **Tech Fellow Society Meetings**, which are a new gathering that Tech Fellows, Gurus, and Program Staff will do in order to innovate, improve courses, and share our best practices. This is a discussion-focused experience, but each meeting will feature a returning Tech Fellow's prepared advice on what they've learned over multiple course runs.

## I. Trainings
* **Technical Training** - This 6-week course is focused on technical course content that will be covered during the actual course run.
* **Tech Fellow-led Technical Training** - Two sessions of the technical training are focused on technical course content that will be covered during the actual course run but will be taught by experienced Tech Fellows.
* **Facilitator Training** - This 3-week workshop series will cover tools, responsibilities, and processes Tech Fellows will have during the actual course run.
* **Teacher Training** - This 5-week course for Returning Tech Fellows will cover techniques on how to present materials and perform lab demos during the class, during which returning Tech Fellows will get a chance to practice teaching and mentoring our New Tech Fellows.
* **Tech Fellow Society Meetings** - Tech Fellows and Program Staff gather for an hour during the first 6 weeks of their classes, and collaborate on innovating the way CodePath.org classes are taught, and share their knowledge and learnings with each other.
