At Matter Labs, we are building zkSync: technology for scalable smart contracts with privacy, secured by the latest generation of zero-knowledge proofs. The mission of zkSync is to scale public permissionless blockchains (such as Ethereum) to millions of users in a completely trustless manner -- relying on pure Math. Succinct zero-knowledge proofs are currently the only viable way to achieve this goal, and we are proud to be one of a few companies in the world with a strong expertise in this field. This is an ambitious and technologically challenging task with a lot of unknowns. However, if we succeed, in a few years it can have a similar impact on the global trade and finance as Skype had on the telecom industry. You can learn more about zkSync here. The Role We are looking for senior software engineers to join our core team. Your task scope will include design and implementation of the zkSync smart contract platform: ZKP-compatible programming language and virtual machine, implementation of complex cryptography (see for example this), p2p network and consensus (we are using Facebook's LibraBFT), etc.
