# Botanix Testnet Interaction Guide (English Version) [TOC] ## 1. Project Introduction ![image](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/B1YX2nS2yl.png) [botanixlabs](https://www.botanixlabs.xyz/en/home) is building the infrastructure to transform Bitcoin from the best currency ever to a programmable layer, becoming the foundation for future finance. Our approach is to build the first fully decentralized EVM-equivalent Layer 2 on Bitcoin, combining the usability and versatility of EVM with the decentralization and security of Bitcoin. Botanix uses Bitcoin's Proof of Work (PoW) as the base settlement and decentralized first layer, using Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus model, where stakes (represented in Bitcoin) are securely stored on Spiderchain. Spiderchain is a distributed decentralized multi-signature network protected by a random subset of participants. Anyone can stake their Bitcoin on Bitcoin. In summary, Botanix aims to create a Layer 2 ecosystem for Bitcoin. The core components, as shown in the image above, are Spiderchain and Botanix EVM, which is compatible with Ethereum's EVM. I will skip further details here as my own understanding is limited 😅. Faucet **Important Statement**: The testnet uses **Mutiny Signet BTC Test Coins**, which are different from the BTC testnet tokens. Ecosystem Interaction ***“The main chain is dead, focus on the ecosystem”***: I recently saw this quote somewhere, and I agree with it. It’s like saying, “To get rich, you need to build roads first,” but the roads themselves don’t produce much profit; it’s the industry that matters. Just my own thoughts 😍. Every ecosystem has its own tasks, and you can explore them. Well, I was wrong, and we should respect the developers behind every project. * Interact with your own wallet Earlier, I wrote about token transfers and transactions. Following advice from **guyu_62** in the community, it’s better to send tokens to your own wallet address to avoid any issues like "witchcraft." ## 6.
