# Comms in TEC: Evolving and Adapting
Hello commmunity! November was the last month of Comms as we knew it, and as we move on from TEAMs and the Comms WG, I wanted to put this post together to present general results, as well as some reflections on the last couple of months.
### A Token Engineering Odyssey
Sharing different ideas with @GideonRo this meme came to mind where the TEC is a spaceship on a mission to advance token engineering, however many of the astronauts (objectives) take a lot of resources suring the trip, so getting some of these into "hybernation mode" while we're on our way seems like a better idea.

While we reach a better scenario, some austronauts will remain active keeping the ship's basic functions like Governance, Transparency and Communications going on.

### TEAMs and lessons learned
Five Comms TEAMs were originally funded by the TEC:
* **Twitter Planning**: to handle the TEC Twitter, strategies and drafting of content.
* **TE Academy T.E.A.M**: to support communications efforts for the TEA while preparing for TE Fundamentals.
* **Translations**: to make TEC documentation and articles available in other languages.
* **Animation & Video Production**: to provide animation services to different TEC products.
* **Marketing TEAM** (formerly Hubspot TEAM): to handle the TEC mailing list and provide insight into marketing strategies.
Of these 5, only 3 successfully achieved their objectives:
* **Twitter Planning**: executed and managed mostly by @acidlazzer, this TEAM made our Twitter grow from around 1K followers to the current 5K and helped keep the TEC community updated.
* **TE Academy T.E.A.M**: Successfully integrated with TE Academy Communications and helped promote TE Fundamentals, specially in Latin America.
* **Animation and Video Production**: Delivered an animated tutorial for Praise.
### Sending WXDAI back to the common pool & transparency around funds
To this day, the marketing multisig controled by me and @Zeptimus holds all of the remaining comms funds. Some multisigs have already sent their remaining funds back:
* Comms Stewarding: [$1,500 WXDAI](https://blockscout.com/xdai/mainnet/tx/0xdd9f2c675071ac725d20a627713c9d4d173734ee897376532eb291d0ca0c5aac/)
* These funds were the remaining of the original funding and correspond to duties that were not fulfilled in the time period mentioned in the proposal. These [have been sent back](https://blockscout.com/xdai/mainnet/tx/0xdd9f2c675071ac725d20a627713c9d4d173734ee897376532eb291d0ca0c5aac/) to the common pool.
* Translations: [$865.91 WXDAI](https://blockscout.com/xdai/mainnet/tx/0x48480deec655eb7cc290d1e3913a6c4edb73750dbb2f4952c5e1daee46561f39/)
* These funds lacked proper project management for TEC translations. This TEAM delivered just a part of the expected results. These funds [have been sent back](https://blockscout.com/xdai/mainnet/tx/0x48480deec655eb7cc290d1e3913a6c4edb73750dbb2f4952c5e1daee46561f39/) to the common pool.
* Twitter Planning: $323 WXDAI
* These funds will be transfered to the core functions team.
* TE Academy: $1,400 WXDAI debt
* $1,000 WXDAI + $400 WXDAI are owed to @angieberryberry and @AnaTech respectively for the month of May 2022, where a confusion left them with no compensation for that month. We want to fix this before moving on.
* Marketing TEAM: $17,564.51 WXDAI
* This is the amount left in this multisig minus the mentioned debts. This will be transfered to the core functions team as well.
### Transfering funds to Sampo
* A transaction from the [Twitter Planning TEAM multisig](https://app.safe.global/gno:0xc711a763F81D09259d7Bd59ACBE4eEe9770C194F/home) will send:
* $323 WXDAI to Sampo WG.
* A transaction from the [Marketing TEAM multisig](https://app.safe.global/gno:0xC61D393944C01B2E8c396B036C23F226F9bF8eAF/home) will send:
* $400 WXDAI to @AnaTech
* $1,000 WXDAI to @angieberryberry
* $17,564.51 WXDAI to Sampo WG.
### How Osmotic Funding will help service DAOs in the future
I'd like to acknoledge some mistakes I've personally made while stewarding the Comms WG for the last couple of months. These mostly surround accountability and the failure to execute proper project management.
Osmotic Funding is a solution that combines Conviction Voting and Superfluid to create conviction-backed streams. This approach will help recognize both contributors and projects as their milestones keep moving forward so that monitoring the use of project funds becomes a better and improved process than it currently is and help prevent these kind of accountability situations in DAOs in the future.
### Until we see each other again
Many contributors to the TEC Comms have passed through our community, and we look forward to better times where creative ideas can be something that can keep bringing value to the token engineering field.
Thanks for everything, TEC family <3.
