title: Liquid Coordination as MetaCrisis Immune Response

## Liquid Coordination
### A MetaCrisis Immune Response
#### The Problem
Well, the [metacrisis](https://wiki.metacrisis.xyz) is the problem of course. A core driver of that is [coordination failure](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordination_failure_(economics)) built into capitalism, nation states, and the rest of our current planetary operating system. That OS forces individuals and tribes into actions that benefit themselves at the expense of society and the planet, and even counter to the their actual desires.
Few of us *want* arms races, climate change, over-fishing, rainforest destruction, or fossil fuel addiction but coordination failure perpetuates them. See [Meditations on Moloch](https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/TxcRbCYHaeL59aY7E/meditations-on-moloch).
Nation states are programmed to look out for themselves at all costs, and thus spend obscene amounts on defense that does nothing to contribute to the planetary commons. Capitalism drives obscene wealth and hoarding that noone can use.
The Regenerative movement is millions strong, yet it has little collective agency, impact, or coordination. That has to change or the planet is doomed, and soon.
#### Our Solution
So, what is the opposite of coordination failure? Can a better OS arise that promotes coordination toward mutual aid and the good of the whole and thereby avoid the multi-polar traps that are propelling dystopia?
Our alternative to coordination failure is ***liquid coordination***. We believe we already have the necessary tools to allow the Regenerative Movement to act as a supra-national, multi-scale prosocial superorganism, a ***networked autonomous organism (NAO)***, and to make optimal collective decisions at all scales using the unique decision-making capacities of trust networks, e.g. *[liquid democracy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_democracy)*.
There is no reason the Regeneration Movement can’t have at least as much power as the Catholic church, and the ability to act in emergent, multi-scale ways that outcompete the current OS.
### How?
The core concept is to span the Regen Movement as a fractal trust network, grown by invitation, expanding out from kernels of visionary exemplars and those they respect and trust.
The topology of trust networks embeds them with the capacity for extreme decisioning: real-time, global scale, highly trusted, optimally effective.
### Mission
The mission of this project is to facilitate the growth of such multi-scale by-invitation trust networks, to power them by allowing them to own and govern their significant financial value as a commons (network cooperative), and to become the optimal way to allocate the vast amount of money intended for public goods worldwide.

### Proof of Personhood / Humanity
Proof-of-personhood is critical for such collective decision-making. Sybil and collusion resistance is critical to voting, reputation, portable communities, UBI,....
GreenCheck.world attacks that problem with ***three-friend authentication***. Who knows better if one’s assertion of uniqueness is true? One’s friends, that’s who.
By manifesting the trust we have in each other to validate proof of personhood claims, we build trust networks organically.
GreenCheck is a prime mover of a Federated Authentication Network currently in development of putting such proof of personhood under user control as DIDs.
### Portable Communities / Holons
To quote Richard Bartlett, co-founder of Loomio:
> I spent a decade and a million bucks to conclude the only really critical gap in collective organising software is to synchronise group membership across multiple platforms.
We all participate in many, often overlapping communities: teams, conferences, Discords, citations networks,...
A natural part of this endeavor is a [Portable Communities Protocol](https://hackmd.io/j8nCi9VkQ4CWk11PJuyAWw), a necessary and sufficient way to make our many communities ***persistent, composable, and application-independent***. We do that by representing them as graphs, subnetworks of nodes (people) and the edges (their relationships). Call them Holons. Boolean operations are native to such graphs so they naturally compose and federate.
### Decisioning / Governance
How could such large, fractal networks govern themselves? Trust networks have *[liquid democracy](https://)* built into them. We just need to start experimenting and getting good at it.
Much of the critical innovation in DAO governance is coming from realizing the power of delegation networks of experts to make optimal decisions.
