South Korean cycling sensation Na Na-rim (Samyang) won the silver medal in the women's individual road race at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.
Na Na-rim won the silver medal in the women's individual road race at the Asian Games in 3 hours, 36 minutes and 07 seconds at the Chunan Jiexiu Sports Center Cycling Road Course on Thursday.
She finished second in the 33-rider field, narrowly behind first-place finisher Yang Chien-yue of Hong Kong. Third place went to Thailand's Jutatip Manipan.
The individual road race was 139.7 kilometers long, and Nahm started to pull away with 13 kilometers to go before he and Yang Chien-yu took the lead.
The two continued to battle for first and second place. Yang Chien-yu pulled away and pushed a little harder, and Nahm crossed the line in second place.
Na-rim, who had previously won a bronze medal in the women's Madison on March 28, had finished fifth in the women's road race on March 3. Luckily, she won a medal in the final event of the day.
The silver is the ninth medal of his career at the Asian Games, having won four titles at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Games.
Na, who has five Asian Games gold medals to his name, was looking for his sixth gold medal at the Games, tied for the most ever by a South Korean athlete, but fell just short. Nam Hyun-hee (fencing), Ryu Seo-yeon (bowling) and Park Tae-hwan (swimming) are South Korea's other gold medalists at the Asian Games. 19가이드03
