# "Kim Ha-Sung the most improved San Diego player this season"

"Kim develops into elite No. 1 hitter, best on team defensively"

MLBcom, the official website of Major League Baseball (MLB), named Ha Sung Kim, 27, [한국야동](https://www.19guide03.com/bbs/board.php?bo_table=gallery) the San Diego Padres' most improved player of the season on Thursday.

In an article titled "The Most Improved Players of the Season," MLBcom highlighted one player from each of the 30 teams.

"It's no secret that Ronald Acuña Jr. (Atlanta Braves) and Mookie Betts (Los Angeles Dodgers) are in a tight race for the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award this season, with Matt Olson (Atlanta) and Freddie Freeman (Dodgers) close behind," [성인웹툰](https://conifer.rhizome.org/19guide03/mens-volleyball-faces-china-for-ticket-to-asia-championship-quarterfinals) MLBcom said.

"But do you know who the fifth best player in the NL in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) is?" he asked, "It's Ha Sung Kim."

According to WAR rankings calculated by baseball stats site Baseball-Referencecom, Betts leads the National League in WAR (8.1), Aquino Jr. is second (7.4), Olson is third (6.5), Freeman is fourth (6.3), and Kim is fifth (5.7).

At one point, Ha Sung Kim led the National League in WAR.

In addition to his bat, Kim has been a tremendous performer, leading the team with his defense.

"San Diego has struggled this season, but Kim has emerged as one of the few good players on the team," wrote [MLBcom](http://www.google.hr/url?q=https%3A%2F%2F19guide03.com%2F), "with a .358 batting average, 35 stolen bases, and second in the NL in pitches per at-bat, he's developed into an elite first baseman."

"Defensively, there is no one on the team like him," the publication said, "and he has played a variety of roles at second base, third base, and shortstop."

In 141 games this season, Kim batted .268 with 17 home runs, 58 RBIs, 80 runs scored, and 35 stolen bases.
