# Contributor Proposal for paulheayn August 16th - August 27th (Trial Period) ##

## Background ##
I've been working on consumer products for the past 5 years and have been interested in crypto and the future it is creating for about 2 years. However, I saw huge issues with onboarding non-technical people to crypto.

I learned about DAOs earlier this year via podcast on DOAs and came across DXdao through a random protocol's Discord channel. I saw DXdao was building multiple decentralized products including Omen. I hadn't been introduced to predictive markets because betting is in a gray area the US, but I see a lot of potential for growth in engagement and community.

I'd like to help out on the Omen product side and have been talking with corkus (https://daotalk.org/u/hexyls), [cadenr](https://daotalk.org/u/Caden), and Melanie (https://daotalk.org/u/Melanie) about my proposal. Corkus and I decided this proposal was the right scope to get familiar with Omen and help the team. ## Timeframe ##
I'd like my trial period to run from August 16th to August 27th @ 40 hours a week full time or 80 hours, which ever comes first.

## Proposed Scope of Contribution ##
### Goals ###
* Understand Omen users via user research, competition
* Identify gaps in current Omen product
* Understand how Omen functions on a technical level
* Integrate with the Omen team via chat, Omen specific meetings, and DXDAO-wide meetings
* Publish competive analysis and Omen UX teardown deliverables on PAR Group website
* Work with Omen team to define target user
* Learn more about how a decentralized organization can run

## Compensation ##
* Past experience: 5 years as a product manager, but just getting started in Web3/DeFi/DAO
* Experience Level 3
* Trial period @ 100% time
### Salary for trial period ###
* $1,500 in WETH, half paid once the proposal is passed and half paid once the trial period is over.
> $1,500 = ($6,000 monthly base * 1 for 100% time * 0.5 trial period rate * 0.5 adjusted for 2 week trial period)
* $1,000 in DXD
> $1,000 = ($4,000 monthly base * 1 for 100% time * 0.5 trial period rate * 0.5 adjusted for two week trial period)

## Work Experience ##
I was a senior product manager at [Lose It](https://www.loseit.com), a calorie counting app on iOS and Android. Before that I was the sole product manager for [ASICS Studio](https://studio.asics.com), an audio-based fitness app, where I set the product vision and roadmap, iterated with a cross-functional team, and dove into qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize features. Previous to that, I worked as a product manager for [Runkeeper](https://www.runkeeper.com), a run tracking app, focused on community and the core app.
