# Linux Audio - alsa-ucm-conf
[TOC]
## References
The syntax ALSA UCM is rather arcane. The official documention are the [*Use Case Configuration*](https://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-lib/group__ucm__conf.html) and the [*Configuration files*](https://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/alsa-lib/conf.html), which unfortunately don't provide much insight on how it related to ALSA's abstractions, nor do they explain semantics of the keywords in UCMs. The best way to understand may be looking into the actual examples in the wild. See the following references:
1. [*Alsa UCM*](https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Alsa_UCM) from postmarketOS wiki
4. [*Linux ALSA one sound card for input one sound card for output*](https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/69717/linux-alsa-one-sound-card-for-input-one-sound-card-for-output) on Stack overflow
Also see the `alsa-ucm-conf` package on Launchpad, where Ubuntu folks report and fix the configurations. For example:
1. [#LP2025353](https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-ucm-conf/+bug/2025353) : *Add support of AMD Pink Sardine and RPL DMIC*
2. [#LP2051199](https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-ucm-conf/+bug/2051199): *Add MediaTek Genio mt8370 support and update mt8390 and mt8395 configs*
