## Tech Champion - Sero: Season 14
### What I want to achieve over the next Season **(3 months)**
My goals for season 14 is to begin the creation of MetaLabs, a structured internal organisation of developers, maintainers, writers, and designers.
Additionally I'd like to complete work on the Optimism grant (75% complete), and to continue breaking down the site into indepedent functional products, during this season I would be heavily involved in re-engaging builders, and create effective incentive structures and trajectories for retaining and growing talent.
#### Moonstone #1 - (first-month milestone)
- Complete final Optimism grant task
- Complete and launch MetaLink
- Begin research process.
#### Moonstone #2 - (second-month milestone)
- Establish collaboration pipelines with other DAOs: (Raid Guild, hats, etc..)
- Begin engaging community, developers and onboarding
- Begin MetaDashboards (utilises MetaLink)
#### Moonstone #3 - (third-month milestone)
- Secure funding for multiDAO collaboration on MetaLink (MetaProfile)
- Ramp up mentorship in MetaGame community
- Continue optimising our infra: (site, backend, bots, webflow)
#### My championing is a success if…
The above moonstones delivered
Metric #1: Optimism Grant technical tasks completed
Metric #2: Secured funding and partnerships with the wider DAO community
Metric #3: MetaLink is fully indepedent and integrated with DAO infra
### My responsibilities
#### What kind of tasks fall under my responsibilities:
- Managing code repositories, fixing bugs, maintaining site
- Upkeeping Github issues, pull requests, task creation, assignments and completions.
- Upkeeping technical budgetting, financial reports, and performance reviews.
- Partnership development, roadmap development
- Assisting in finding, completing and managing grants.
#### My powers:
- Budgetting for technical aspects.
- Ticket creation, specification, assignments and management.
- Guiding the direction of technical issues, such as feature development.
- Prioritization of tasks.
- Building metalabs, MG's research, development and partnerships org
#### What special privileges & autonomies do you expect?
- A 5000$ a month salary issued from the MetaGame Treasury.
- The authority to issue, manage and prioritise technical work based on communication with key shareholders of Metagame circle.
#### Why this is important for MetaGame
MetaGame has built a strong reputation in the DAO space, and developed a suite of potential products over 4 years. The main issues MetaGame has faced are a lack of consistent leadership, no core team, and unfocused work.
Since the beginning of Season 13, and UX Squad before that:
- MetaGame's treasury is at it's strongest, sitting at over 50k in non SEED tokens.
- $SEED is up 13% from it's ATL in January, due to the non-seed compensation policy we've adopted.
- The MetaGame site's performance, and functionality is at it's most stable
- The MetaGame community is more active, with more members joining, participating and growing in our community.
- Partnerships are steadily being formed with the wider web3 community.
My proposal addresses the main pain points reported during this years research, the main complaints:
- MetaGame community members want to find work through our DAO
- MetaGame community members want to find workers within our DAO
- MetaGame is too costly for most learners (0.25c per playbook chapter)
- MetaGame is 100% reliant on donations, grants, and patrons which will be addressed by developing solo products to launch in the market in collaboration with bigger DAOs.
#### How it relates to the current & overall goals of MetaGame.
- MetaGame is currently attempting to grow it's community, and to provide users with more activities.
- MetaGame continues to struggle with monetising the monorepo, by focusing on smaller independent products with support from other organisations we increase our likelihood of success, and decrease the probability we will be tied to the failure of a single product.
- MetaGame is attempting to establish itself as a connective tissue for the DAOspace, "MetaLabs" and business partnerships will increase the likelihood of reaching our goals.
#### Why am I the right person for it and why should I be the one to do it?
- I have clearly demonstrated the ability to contribute to all sides of the tech stack, also I have assisted MG in finding and competing in grants programs.
- I have connections and relationships with many DAOs and organisations which could be compatible with the long term vision of MetaGame (gitcoin, pokt, raid guild, hats, golem, octant, superfluid, etc..)
- I have successfully secured funding for the DAO covering my expenses, with a surplus remaining.
#### How might I fail at it
I am confident in my ability to deliver on my promises, and bar emergencies, accidents or major life issues I do not see myself failing.
#### What I’ll need help with
- Weekly meetings with Peth, shilling champion, and technical members
- Leeway in guiding the direction of MetaGame's development.
- Authority to assign work, and assist OSS devs.
- Advice and criticism to my progress, behaviour, and short-comings
- Financial stability to assist in my ability to focus (5k USD per month)
#### What I hope to gain
I hope to cement myself in MetaGame, guide it's growth and, support in reaching sustainability for MG and Myself.
#### Criteria, and cancellation
- To continue this I must demonstrate an ability to deliver on my promises
- Progress must be maintained, and consistent
- I must avoid damaging MetaGame in any way
Monthly reviews will be conducted by the MG ecosystem, where I will deliver progress analysis, during these reviews the MG team can give me a 30 day notice prior to complete discontinuation of my role and salary. This will give me time to ease my transition out of the role and complete any open work.
**Every season a follow up proposal will be made, in which the community can vote to discontinue with no notice.**
I must provide a 30 day notice prior to quitting my role, and assist in finding someone to take over my responsibilities.
#### My promise.
I am currently able to commit roughly 25 - 30 hours per week to MetaGame. (Excluding all the non-trackable work such as meetings with DAOs, representing MG, and discussions outside of work hours)
I pledge to regularly report my progress, let others know when I can’t & gracefully step down from my championing role if/when I have to.
