### How decentralised is POKT Network?

Pokt is committed to decentralisation, so much so that it is a top consideration for all of our efforts, and decisions.

POKT has selected to be a protocol and base layer for the RPC world, supporting and incentivising the development of independent Gateways.

POKT consistently chooses to scale horizontally, whether it be with our protocol, node runners, ecosystem or community.

POKT has completely outsourced the following:
- POKTScan
- RPC gateways: grove, nodies, porters, etc..
- POKT News
- NodeWallet
- Development of site
- Content production
- And much more..

The most successful service providers in our ecosystem are in fact third party gateways, operating independently of the foundation itself.

* It is widely known that Web3, while aiming for decentralisation has various choke points, especially around RPCs. From the start our mission is to create balance by offering an alternative to the standard RPCs, today even Infura uses POKT Nodes.
* POKT DAO: to stay true to the mission of an open ecosystem, the POKT DAO is delegated to make important decisions around the future of the ecosystem, and the direction of POKT Foundation

Our tokenomics ensure the survival of the protocol, and incentive systems. It is not decentralised if it can’t run without us.

### What does Open Source mean to us?

Everything POKT has built is open source, available to the wider web3 ecosystem to view, edit, and fork.

Our protocol has been open source since day 1, our site, bridge, staking service, are all available on our GitHub organisation.

- Open Source means Open Data, we make all of the data we capture available to the community and the world, via our YouTube, blog, and social media platforms
* Roadmaps, finances, and domain research: we value transparency, and honesty, which is why our Safe, grants programs, financial reports are all open to the public. We know how important it is to understand our domain, and how little information there is on this new web3 world. So we’ve invested in research campaigns around Web3 aggregating various highlights of our space.
* Reducing the barriers to entry: Nodes and Gateways are hard, they require technical knowledge and a lot of resources. To making it more accessible we’ve assisted in the development of a Gateway Kit as well as making Node Running simpler. Our mission is to improve outcomes for those running a node and providing a gateway.

- POKT is available on over 50 chains, providing direct access to data on the Bitcoin, EVM, and Solana blockchains.
- POKTScan an independent ecosystem app provides data around the POKT Network such as: relays, nodes, networks, rankings and more.
- POKT does not record any user data, we are committed to privacy, security and freedom
