## 課程敘述 Description of the course
We will use calculus and linear algebra (existence and uniqueness of differential equation at some point) to study
1. curves in space
2. surfaces in space
The story ranges from 18th century to early 19th century, culminating in Gauss's theory of surfaces developed in 1820's.
The other topic we will cover is the discovery of non-Euclidean geometry as described in Greenberg's book.
