# Exporting Your Polkadot-JS Extension Accounts
### Step 1:
Open your extension in the browser and hit the plus sign button in the top right. You will then need to click on "Export all accounts".

### Step 2
This will redirect you to a page where you are prompted to enter a password to encrypt the data you are about to export. Please use best password practices. I would recommend no less than 20 characters that are a mix of characters, numbers, and symbols. Once you have saved your password securely, and have entered it in the input box, click "I want to export all my accounts" which will then download a JSON file to your downloads.

### Step 3
Now that you have your JSON file which contains all of your accounts, you may import it to any other polkadot-js extension. In order to do so, open the extension you would like to import your accounts to. Hit the plus button on the top right, and then click on "Restore account from backup JSON file".

### Step 4
You will be redirected to a page that asks you to input the JSON file. Once inputted it will populate all your accounts so you can ensure they are correct, then it will ask for your password at the bottom. Once the the password is correctly inputted you will then have access to your polkadot-js extension accounts again.
